CAREER EDUCATION - We have studied 4 careers since September... Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources, Architecture & Construction, Hospitality & Tourism, Arts, A/V Technology & Communications... Classroom assignment - Choose a career to research in one of these career clusters. This will be done the last hour of the day for the next two weeks.

CASAS POST TESTING WILL BEGIN MONDAY, JANUARY 24. This will be your chance to see how much you have learned and how much closer you are to your GED.

ADOPT A BLOCK SERVICE ACTIVITY (Time on Task)
SkillSource students have the opportunity to give back to the community. They will:
1. Maintain the public landscaping (i.e. pull weeds, etc.)
2. Pick up litter
3. Keep the sidewalks clear of debris
4. Remove all debris to private receptacles (garbage cans, dumpster, etc.)

MONDAY - Food bank service project. Most Mondays we will be going to help at the food bank. (Time on Task)

Don't forget to get your "Time on Task" sheets signed every day. If you are in any activity that is not on the OdysseyWare or Passkey or APEX, be sure to get it signed. Students that do not show adequate progress will be put on an academic contract. It is your responsibility to get the "Time on Task" sheets signed each day. If you were on a job, you would want to get paid for what you do. You want to be "paid" for what you do in class. Record keeping is a very important job skill.
  • Eventually the "Time on Task" sheets will go away and you will have to post a response to the blog. You will be creating an email and a Google account. The email account will help you in applying for employment. Most applications are now on line and you will need an email address to apply for these jobs.
